Upper Ojai is located along Ojai-Santa Paula Road (Highway 150) between the City of Ojai and Santa Paula. Upper Ojai is a rural and pastoral area where homes sit on parcels from less than 1-acre to over 40 acres. Once you leave the City of Ojai going east you will climb higher g into Upper Valley on what is known as the Dennison Grade.

When you reach the overlook on the grade there is a wonderful place to stop and look out over the grandeur of the Ojai Valley ¦Shangri La!

Another famous institution that can be found in Upper Ojai is The Ojai Foundation. This is a place where people come together in a beautiful country setting to study, learn and interact with each other. Larry Hagman, the famous actor form the TV series Dallas used to live in Upper Ojai in a home he called "Heaven." This home sold after Larry's passing. It is said that this home commands one of the most spectacular views in all of Ventura County. Larry was a great guy and always helped-out with community and charitable events.
